WEDNESDAY May 20: 1-3pm

PART 3 – THE HEAD CENTRE

We each have 3 centres of intelligence – our heads, our hearts and our bodies.  When we are caught in our type, our dominant centre holds sway over our perception of reality and focuses our responses, defensively and protectively, in ways that may not serve.  That is why we work to notice our type’s actions and over time try to loosen its grip on us.

When we do, we can open to the insights and perceptions of all our centres.  That means learning to respect and listen to our underdeveloped centres and to discern when our dominant centre is on automatic versus open to what wisdom it holds for us in the moment.  As we can do this, our actions come from a more grounded place, attentive to our heart’s wisdom and the received knowing that arises in our minds. Cultivating silence and stillness help, but it also important to look at the difficulties we have being in all our centres.  Being more present in all our centres helps us live in the moment, guided by the wisdom they hold.

It is so helpful to be intentional about this. Each Wednesday we will work with a different centre:  our Body Centre (May 6), our Heart Centre (May 13) and the Head Centre (May 20).

HEAD CENTRE – May 20:  We will spend time looking at how, in a head-centred culture, most of us believe that our wisdom lies in our minds and discount the wisdom of our other centres – our heart’s and our body’s.  Because our heads often serve our contracted type’s needs and automatic patterns, we can’t rely on our heads to “know.”  If we can see the truth in this, it helps us begin to be able to discern when what our heads say is type related or a deeply grounded truth in the moment and can even be “received knowing.”

Ideally attendance at all 3 will be helpful, as each session will build on the previous ones, but it is not a requirement.
