Staying Open in a Time of Fluid Uncertainty – Part 1: Cultivating Stillness

July 8, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am EDT

Wednesday July 8: 1-3pm

Part 1 of a 3-part series.  While coming to all 3 would be good, it is summer and so please come to whatever you can.

(Part 2 – Wednesday, July 15 – Cultivating Your Inner Observer/Witnessing Consciousness; Part 3 – Wednesday, July 22 – Opening to Guidance)

Over these three weeks, it is my hope that we can take another step into presence – being less and less often hampered by the narrowed attention of our contracted type, more open to the wisdom of our centres.  This is the core work within the Enneagram. It is deeply spiritual work and it is hard work.  In each phase, we are likely to encounter challenges, but working with the understandings of the Enneagram, we can move forward into experiences of profound connection with our deeper selves and with the truths and callings that are guiding our lives in the moment.

This is what Richard Rohr wrote July 5, 2020:

“Wisdom in Times of Crisis

The word change normally refers to new beginnings. But the mystery of transformation more often happens not when something new begins, but when something old falls apart. The pain of something old falling apart—chaos—invites the soul to listen at a deeper level, and sometimes forces the soul to go to a new place.

While change can force a transformation, spiritual transformation always includes a disconcerting reorientation. It can either help people to find new meaning or it can force people to close down and slowly turn bitter. The difference is determined precisely by the quality of our inner life, our practices, and our spirituality.

Change happens, but transformation is always a process of letting go, living in the confusing, shadowy space for a while. Eventually, we are spit up on a new and unexpected shore.”

Here’s to being spit up together on a new and unexpected shore!
