Ancestral Healing: A Somatic Approach

Our bodies hold the stories of our lives, yes, but there is more. Our bodies are in intimate connection with all of life, with all of reality. Information that is not purely personal can and does flow through them, often without our conscious awareness. Our bodies are receivers, if you will. This opens up the possibility of other kinds of somatic work.

It is now apparent that the energy of unresolved trauma can move from parent to child, without the child ever having experienced the original trauma.  While it lives in our body, we cannot access it by exploring memories from our own life. We can however access the aspects of the original trauma through somatic work.  I have had the experience personally and when working with others that what seemed to be an intractable physical pain or issue resolved as the ancestral story it held energetically came into awareness.

Participants will be invited to open into ancestral work by inviting in the experience to be worked with that serves highest good. This experience asks of us to trust in the unfolding healing that can happen when we offer ourselves into service. This is brave work.  It is much less familiar to us. That said, please do consider it, perhaps even be guided by your deeper sense if this is for you at this time.
