SUMMARY:Healing White Body Trauma in Whites
DESCRIPTION:Monthly for 4 months\, starting October (to be confirmed) \nSue will be offering small (6-8 people) 2-hour healing circles online as an accompaniment to the continuing “On Being White” offerings that Jill Varley and Sue will be hosting. \nIn My Grandmother’s Hands\, Resmaa Menakem\, a black psychotherapist\, talks about the trauma we whites of European heritage carry in our bodies – first\, the trauma of the violence our ancestors experienced that is carried in our energy and DNA – second\, the trauma of the violence we have historically and/or personally participated in.  He argues\, and I totally agree\, that we need to heal these traumas\, by definition held in our bodies\, in our bodies.  Without doing this\, without being present with the pain in a clean way\, we often unconsciously inflict our pain on others.  Healing in the body is necessary to our being more resilient\, open\, inclusive in our lives\, to our being able to take up “what is ours to do\,” in the areas of our lives where we feel called to act. \nThe circles will be opportunities to work somatically with what arises in us as we open to what needs to be healed for our highest good and the highest good of all.  The traumas we will focus on will relate to our whiteness (race)\, but we will likely encounter other of our origin stories as whites and we need to be open to all of these in the process. \nPlease contact Sue if you are interested.  The number of circles and the dates will be decided\, based on the level of interest. \nCost: $30 contribution each session\, or pay what you can

SUMMARY:Embodying our Connection to the Earth
DESCRIPTION:Online with Sue ~~\nSaturday\, May 8: 9 – 11am\nThis will be a time for exploring our connection to the earth\, for some\, increasingly a very real presence in our lives\, including a growing element in our spiritual journey. \nOur connection to her can be elusive\, for any of a number of reasons. For some of us\, being grounded and appreciative of our body and its wisdom is a relatively new experience.  Its place\, and through it our connection to the earth\, is slowly being revealed. This contrasts with some spiritual teachings and with the dominant paradigm in the west\, where we have been taught to see the earth purely in economic and extractive terms\, not as part of a mutual caring and nurturing relationship. \nAs well\, as we step more consciously into this relationship\, we can fear her power and the enormity of the experience of being open to her.  Much like when we open to the night sky\, we can feel small and vulnerable.  Opening to the natural world can be similarly overwhelming or intense – and as full of awe as any other profound spiritual experience. \nMy hope is that this will be the beginning of a series of offerings that\, when possible\, will happen in person\, here on the land over  a day or two. \nCost: $30 (or pay what you can) \nRegister now.

As we grow\, we move beyond these limits. At our core lies the essence of who we really are\, our True Nature\, the Divine alive in us. While we have all aspects of the Divine within us\, each type opens most fully to one experience of the Divine. \nAs we face our deepest fears arising from the false perception that we are separate from God\, from Source\, from the Creator\, we can begin to sense into the deepest spiritual experience of our type. We can begin to live the aspect of the Divine most available to us as one of our most profound gifts. We will explore each type’s Holy Experience in this workshop\, with an emphasis on how to open to expressing our divine gifts. \n* A week ahead of the actual workshop date participants will be given access to 3 hours of password-protected online videos we have created\, to be viewed on your own time prior to the class. SUMMARY:Resilience: Improving our Ability to Face Truths
DESCRIPTION:Online with Sue ~~\nSaturday April 10: 9:30am – 2:30pm\nA number of us have been looking at our “white fragility” in response to the glaringly apparent racism against blacks\, people of colour and indigenous peoples (BIPOC) in our society.  This fragility of ours isn’t only in response to looking at these truths that we would prefer not to see. \nIt is a general quality of our personalities.  We avoid what we prefer not to see.  And so\, working with the Enneagram\, to see our type in action through steady self-reflection is a way to build our stamina/our resilience.  Working to loosen our type\, we learn to notice and pause our reactivity.  And as we can accept ourselves\, as we are\, flawed and beautiful\, we have more resilience in the face of unexpected truths – unacknowledged flaws. \nIn times like these\, building our resilience is critical\, being able to face hard truths is critical.  The intention for this workshop is to open to the faultlines in your resilience at this point in time.   The invitation is to listen and see what arises once you decide to come.  It is not about thinking about it – rather it is hearing and accepting the invitation. \nCost: $75 (or pay what you can) \nRegister now.

By noticing and learning to be accepting of the way our Type works\, we become less reactive and more able to respond in constructive ways in the moment. \nIn this particularly challenging time\, we need emotional resilience and stamina.  We need to be able to see reality\, feel what we feel and choose to do what is ours to do. \nWith all this in mind\, I am offering a series of gatherings on 3 consecutive Saturdays.  The theme is”Clearing Our Path to Love: Understanding and Loosening Our Resistance by Type.” \n  \nSaturday\, November 28th \n“Opening to Loving Ourselves” \n  \nSaturday\, December 5th \n“Opening to Loving Others” \n  \nSaturday\, December 12th \n“Opening to a Reciprocal\, Loving Relationship with the Earth” \nThe following is the format for each Saturday – \nMorning 10 – 12 (a larger group $30) and afternoon 2-4 (small group $60).   As always\, it is pay what you can!
