DESCRIPTION:A 2-part ONLINE workshop on Resonant Voice \nResonant Voice I – online\, from 9-12 AM on Sunday\, January 30\, $50 \nResonant Voice II – online\, from 9-12 AM on Saturday\, February 26\, $50 \nWhat is Resonant Voice and Why Does it Matter\nHave you ever noticed that when you’re grounded\, truly grounded in a receptive stillness\, your voice has a different timbre/resonance/vibrational quality than when you’re chatting or connecting or being emotional. We speak more slowly and our voice has a deeper tonal quality when we are grounded.  We can almost detect the thoughtfulness\, the quiet responsiveness that is part of being grounded in our voices themselves. \nThe corollary is that when we are contracted in our Enneagram type\, our voices are tighter\, even thinner. Contracted\, we have limited access to the wisdom of each of our centres\, our head\, heart and belly.  And as important\, when we are contracted\, it is not possible to access the wisdom and gifts of our Essence\, our deepest Being. \nWe can work with this in a number of ways.  The quality of our voices can tell us whether or not we are grounded or contracted.  It is a clue.  It is a valuable part of learning to notice our contracted type in action.  And\, the quality of others’ voices tells us how contracted or open they are. \nSpeaking from a more grounded resonant voice effects the quality of our interactions with people.  For example\, if we want to be more open to a heart-centred connection\, we can move into a more open\, relational voice.  We can track our own reactivity\, by paying attention to the quality of our voice in a conversation.  If we sense we are contracting\, we can intentionally breathe\, slow down our speech and deepen the vibrational quality of our voices to help us move return to a more grounded place. \nAs we are able to be more grounded\, we can address our centres internally with the quieter\, more resonant voice and then receive the wisdom of each of our centres\, which helps us respond to issues we face or make the decisions we need to make.  This is a beautiful way to begin to appreciate the different kinds of wisdom we hold in our Beings.  And when we are able to live from an integrated place\, we can access the wisdom of our Being\, the deepest part of ourselves and be more open to hearing and responding through Divine guidance. \nResonant Voice Workshops I and II \nIn these two Resonant Voice Workshops\, we will explore how to  recognize the contracted and the grounded voices of each of our centres.  People will have an opportunity to experience the different resonances in their own body and to see how where we are speaking from affects our connection with ourself and with others.  We will explore how being more grounded and deeply resonant helps us access a different knowing than our day to day knowing.  There will be an opportunity to hear from the deeper knowing in each our centres in response to a question that matters to us\, something we all too rarely do.  As well\, opening to this depth within us enables us to be receptive to insights and guidance from the field of being\, from the spiritual reality within which we function. SUMMARY:Three-Centred Growth
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, October 23: 9:30am – 4:30pm \n~~ Online with Sue ~~  \nKnowing the Enneagram\, even knowing it well\, doesn’t necessarily mean that we will be able change.  Changing is a process and we need more than knowledge to engage in it.  Three-Centred Growth is one key (along with developing our Witnessing Consciousness and our ability to access an inner stillness). \nOur ego\, our personality\, forms most strongly around our lead centre of intelligence (heart\, head\, body.) When our “type” is running us\, our lead centre serves the contraction of our type\, and our other centres are suppressed by its dominance.  Opening to the wisdom of our other centres can help us loosen the grip of our lead centre.  And to be fully present in any moment\, we need to be grounded in our body with an open heart and a quiet receptive mind.  Then\, we are free to serve the highest good. \nThe day will be about experiencing your relationship with each of your centres\, discovering the unique wisdom each offers and working with any resistance you encounter.  It is quite a powerful experience to feel “whole\,” here\, now in all of your beingness\, awake to the moment. \nCost: $100\, or pay what you can \nRegister now.

SUMMARY:Healing White Body Trauma in Whites
DESCRIPTION:Monthly for 4 months\, starting October (to be confirmed) \nSue will be offering small (6-8 people) 2-hour healing circles online as an accompaniment to the continuing “On Being White” offerings that Jill Varley and Sue will be hosting. \nIn My Grandmother’s Hands\, Resmaa Menakem\, a black psychotherapist\, talks about the trauma we whites of European heritage carry in our bodies – first\, the trauma of the violence our ancestors experienced that is carried in our energy and DNA – second\, the trauma of the violence we have historically and/or personally participated in.  He argues\, and I totally agree\, that we need to heal these traumas\, by definition held in our bodies\, in our bodies.  Without doing this\, without being present with the pain in a clean way\, we often unconsciously inflict our pain on others.  Healing in the body is necessary to our being more resilient\, open\, inclusive in our lives\, to our being able to take up “what is ours to do\,” in the areas of our lives where we feel called to act. \nThe circles will be opportunities to work somatically with what arises in us as we open to what needs to be healed for our highest good and the highest good of all.  The traumas we will focus on will relate to our whiteness (race)\, but we will likely encounter other of our origin stories as whites and we need to be open to all of these in the process. \nPlease contact Sue if you are interested.  The number of circles and the dates will be decided\, based on the level of interest. \nCost: $30 contribution each session\, or pay what you can

SUMMARY:Embodying our Connection to the Earth
DESCRIPTION:Online with Sue ~~\nSaturday\, May 8: 9 – 11am\nThis will be a time for exploring our connection to the earth\, for some\, increasingly a very real presence in our lives\, including a growing element in our spiritual journey. \nOur connection to her can be elusive\, for any of a number of reasons. For some of us\, being grounded and appreciative of our body and its wisdom is a relatively new experience.  Its place\, and through it our connection to the earth\, is slowly being revealed. This contrasts with some spiritual teachings and with the dominant paradigm in the west\, where we have been taught to see the earth purely in economic and extractive terms\, not as part of a mutual caring and nurturing relationship. \nAs well\, as we step more consciously into this relationship\, we can fear her power and the enormity of the experience of being open to her.  Much like when we open to the night sky\, we can feel small and vulnerable.  Opening to the natural world can be similarly overwhelming or intense – and as full of awe as any other profound spiritual experience. \nMy hope is that this will be the beginning of a series of offerings that\, when possible\, will happen in person\, here on the land over  a day or two. \nCost: $30 (or pay what you can) \nRegister now.

DESCRIPTION:Online with Sue ~~\nSaturday March 6: \n(small group) 2-4pm\n\nWhen we are contracted in type\, our head\, heart and belly voices lack a vibrational range and depth. This means the answers we hear from each centre are dictated to some extent by the contraction in our type structure.  However\, when we are more grounded in stillness\, and especially when we experience an interior silence\, we can access the wisdom of each of our centres more readily through a more resonant “being” voice.   We can feel the difference in our centres. \nIn this small group workshop\, people will have a chance to experience the different quality of each of the interior voices.  And\, we will explore how trying to use a more grounded\, resonant voice can help us see how our type can be limiting us. DESCRIPTION:Online with Sue ~~\nSaturday February 20: 9am – 4pm\nKnowing our Enneagram type and the ways in which we can be “caught in type” isn’t enough to loosen the structure.  We have to actually notice our type in action\, before we can do anything with it.  To do this\, to notice\, we need to be able to drop in and observe ourselves\, the thoughts\, feelings and sensations we have.  Sounds easy\, but it isn’t.  We\, more than we know\, can jump to thinking – away from observing.  This makes it harder to grow into the gifts of our type. \nEven more important than the fact that doing this can help us loosen our type structure\, is that over time our intention to witness becomes a deep spiritual path.  Slowly\, it builds a foundational way of being\, a state of receptive surrender.  Then we are more able to be guided by Divine wisdom\, to know God’s will. \nSo\, we will spend this day strengthening our capacity to observe\, working with resistance or whatever comes up to be worked with for each of you on the day. \nCost: $100 (or pay what you can) \nRegister now.

DESCRIPTION:Session 3b: Opening to a Reciprocal\, Loving Relationship with the Earth (smaller group) ~~\nOnline with Sue ~~\nSaturday December 12: 2 – 4pm ~~\nWhat would our world and our lives be like\, if we could love ourselves\, each other and this blessed earth we live on\, unconditionally?   What would our world and our lives be like\, if we could live in our gifts and others could live in theirs? If we could not just acknowledge\, but accept the earth’s invitation to be in a reciprocal and loving relationship? \nHow extraordinary would a world like that be?  Sometimes we get glimpses – but it is not a ‘given’ in our daily lives.  Why is that? \nLoving requires an open heart.  The Enneagram suggests that when we are contracted\, we protect our hearts and avoid our own and others’ emotions. We do this in 9 different ways\, for 9 different reasons.  If we feel we might be overwhelmed by or ashamed of what we learn about ourselves\, we often unconsciously.   If we feel vulnerable\, afraid\, powerless or out of control\, we avoid.  This is done at the expense of a deeper\, richer\, grounded and graced life. \nTo me\, one of the great gifts of the Enneagram is its invitation to become more emotionally resilient. DESCRIPTION:Session 3b: Opening to a Reciprocal\, Loving Relationship with the Earth (larger group) ~~\nOnline with Sue ~~\nSaturday December 12: 10am – 12pm ~~\nWhat would our world and our lives be like\, if we could love ourselves\, each other and this blessed earth we live on\, unconditionally?   What would our world and our lives be like\, if we could live in our gifts and others could live in theirs? If we could not just acknowledge\, but accept the earth’s invitation to be in a reciprocal and loving relationship? \nHow extraordinary would a world like that be?  Sometimes we get glimpses – but it is not a ‘given’ in our daily lives.  Why is that? \nLoving requires an open heart.  The Enneagram suggests that when we are contracted\, we protect our hearts and avoid our own and others’ emotions. We do this in 9 different ways\, for 9 different reasons.  If we feel we might be overwhelmed by or ashamed of what we learn about ourselves\, we often unconsciously.   If we feel vulnerable\, afraid\, powerless or out of control\, we avoid.  This is done at the expense of a deeper\, richer\, grounded and graced life. \nTo me\, one of the great gifts of the Enneagram is its invitation to become more emotionally resilient.
